Cross-border co-operation app with improved UI and experience

KVB Kunlun is an international financial services corporation with operations in Auckland, Sydney, Melbourne, Toronto, Hong Kong and Beijing. Pride themselves on the professional and disciplined approach to financial markets, as is evidenced by the granting of authorizations and licenses by regulators in New Zealand, Australia, Canada and Hong Kong.

This is tenten's first-time cross-border collaboration project, and we appreciate having this chance to revamp a real-time foreign exchange trading app, coverage of 12 major global currencies and comprehensive feeding of the latest financial information across the world!

The challenge, we make the change

The original app was produced by a group of engineer's from KVB, so there're lots of issues we have to improve. Such as the UI usability, UI flow, the whole app's structural integrity...etc. Also, the working schedule was tight, as a result, we put on our tenten spirit to work on it: not working hard but smart. By importing many SASS tools including Paste app, Overflow, Zeplin, Zoom and slack app integration which do help us to work efficiently and have a better presenting on every meeting with our cross-border clients.

GOOD UX IS CULTURAL

One of the most powerful ways for designers to tell a story is to present their designs in a way that connects the dots and describes the entire user journey. Present in a way to allow the engineers to empathize and understand what they see, and at the same time to be able to focus on the details that matter to give constructive feedback. A successful way to achieve this is by presenting user flow diagrams.

By using Overflow, allow the clients to see a birds-eye view perspective, understand how design screens are linked and experience the user flow by following the user journey from start to end.

GUI design and UI kit

In order to give a brand new image on this app revamp, we put efforts on the UI design the most, moreover, we made a new style UI kit to help engineers develop efficiently and visual consistency.

Vivid colors, gradients, float cards UI design are great for injecting energy and dynamism into a project to make it stand out from the crowd. Be brave and experiment with color palettes, but ensure that always work with the tone of the content and not against it. They’re also pretty strong statements, we were thoughtful in their usage to avoid an all-out assault on the eyeballs!
